Assam Higher Secondary Education Council popularly known as the AHSEC is the educational board of Assam which conducts the Higher Secondary Examination for Class 11 and Class 12 students of Assam. Every year Class 12 examinations are held in the month of February and last till the month the March. All the College examination, whether Government or Semi-government, are organised by AHSEC. AHSEC follows the NCERT book and the syllabus is same for both AHSEC students as well as CBSE students so that every student can take part in the national level examination such as NEET, JEE (Mains & Advanced), etc equally.
The syllabus for the Class 12 (Science) AHSEC examination are as follows:
Physics: It includes units such as Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, Communication System.
Chemistry: It include units such as Solid State Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical kinetics, Surface chemistry, General principles and processes of Isolation of Elements, p-Block Elements, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic acids, Organic Compounds containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in Everyday life.
Biology: It includes units such as Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and its application, Ecology, etc.
Mathematics: It includes units such as Relations and Functions, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors Algebra and Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, Probability.
